A beautiful afternoon at Biltmore Estate calls for a little wine tasting! We enjoyed a five-sample flight featuring a lovely selection of both white and red wines, each offering its own distinctive character and flavor.

Sometimes, the view really is the best part of lunch. Today, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the back porch of the Omni Grove Park Inn, surrounded by one of Asheville’s most spectacular backdrops—the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.
With delicious food, a beautiful setting, and panoramic mountain views stretching across the horizon, it was the perfect way to slow down and simply enjoy the moment.

On Our Way Back Home – Hooker Falls
The trail winds through the forest toward the Little River, eventually revealing the falls cascading across a broad granite ledge into the pool below. At only about 12 feet high, Hooker Falls may not be one of North Carolina’s tallest waterfalls, but its wide curtain of water and beautiful natural setting make it a memorable stop. Hiking to High Falls | DuPont State Recreational Forest, North Carolina
Today’s adventure took us into the spectacular DuPont State Recreational Forest for a hike to High Falls—and the payoff was absolutely worth every step!
Our hike to High Falls was definitely one of those experiences that reminds you why you put on the hiking shoes in the first place. The views were incredible, the waterfall was spectacular, and the entire setting felt like a true Blue Ridge Mountain escape.
On our way back to Atlanta, Georgia, we made a delightful stop at McCall Farm—the perfect little pause before getting back on the road.
We grabbed a nice, ice-cold drink, picked up some fresh local produce and a few supplies, and took a moment to enjoy the relaxed farm-country atmosphere. There’s something special about discovering these charming roadside stops while traveling—the kind of places that aren’t necessarily on the itinerary but become part of the memories.
A refreshing drink, fresh produce, and a beautiful countryside setting made McCall Farm a wonderful stop along the way home.
