Bring the Bubbly: Virgin Voyages’ Wine-Friendly Cruise Perk
One of the most loved (and underrated) perks of sailing with Virgin Voyages is their refreshingly generous alcohol policy. Unlike many cruise lines, Virgin allows two complimentary bottles of wine or champagne per cabin to be brought onboard at embarkation — no sneaking, no stress, just smooth sailing.
Each stateroom may carry up to two 750ml bottles of wine or champagne in their carry-on luggage when boarding the ship. That means your vacation can start with your favorite vintage, celebratory champagne, or a special bottle saved just for sea days and sail-away sunsets.
Planning to enjoy your bottle in one of Virgin’s elevated onboard restaurants? A corkage fee may apply. Prefer sipping in your cabin, on your balcony, or under the stars on deck? That experience comes at no additional charge — just pure vacation vibes.
This policy perfectly reflects Virgin Voyages’ modern, sailor-first approach: flexible, indulgent, and designed for travelers who value both quality and freedom. Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, birthday, or simply the joy of being at sea, this small detail makes a big difference.
Cheers to cruising your way!

Taxi vs Uber at the San Juan Cruise Port: Which Is Better for Your Trip?
Disembarkation, leaving the ship, was before 10:30am
A ride from the cruise ship to the airport was $20.00 per person + any tip.
5 minutes and we were on our way!
Regarding UBER – Yes, uber is slightly cheaper, however, our taxi shuttle driver mentioned be glad we did not take an UBER! Uber had major problems today and the line was at least an hour long with hardly any movement!
PRO TIP: when arriving to San Juan International, you will need to complete an USDA inspection. If you have two or more people in your party, as soon as you arrive, have someone go inside the terminal and stand in line to have your bags inspected and tagged!
We could not drop off our luggage before 4 hours prior to our flight. Therefore, we waited until we could drop our luggage and get our boarding passes!
